H&I

Make H&I service a part of your personal recovery! H&I service gives addicts a chance to demonstrate their gratitude by sharing the NA message with addicts who cannot attend our meetings freely. It is also an effective tool that helps us stay clean, and keeps us coming back. We know that active addiction leads to jails, institutions, and death, and we also know that NA’s primary purpose is to carry the message of recovery to the addict who still suffers. It is therefore not surprising that carrying the NA message into hospitals and institutions is one of our priorities.

Still, some members are reluctant to become involved in H&I because they have never been arrested, incarcerated, or institutionalized. With our own personal experience and proper preparation, however, all of us are uniquely qualified to carry the message. The gift we share is hope, and freedom from active addiction. Any NA member who wants to carry the message is encouraged to get involved with H&I. There are many ways to serve in Narcotics Anonymous, and many of us have found H&I service to be the most rewarding aspect of our recovery. Experience these rewards for yourself by getting involved with H&I service. Enrich your own recovery by carrying the message to addicts who do not have full access to regular NA meetings.

Come join the H&I subcommittee when it meets at 12 noon on the first Sunday of each month at 5751 Platt Avenue, Woodland Hills, CA 91356!

You can also contact the H&I chairperson to learn more — i.e., H&I chairperson contact information is on the back of a current West End Area directory.
